Street Fighting Man
Green Arrow & Black Canary #14 is on sale next week. Connor Hawke is back! I took some inspiration from exploitation movie posters, but what this cover really needs is some crazy kung-fu movie titling, Shaw Bros. style. Sadly, this is my last cover for GABC; it’s been a good run and it’s time to move on. Hopefully I’ll get to play in the DCU again soon.

Damn, this is nice! It’s your best one yet. I like your palette very much. Really stylish.

Thanks, Bob! I remember your distinctive lettering on Eddie’s Human Target and I just stopped by your blog — I didn’t know you were a cartoonist, too! It all makes sense, now…

Love it, that paper texture on the background rules and I like the blue and orange panels behind him.

Heh, nice to be remembered. :) Yeah, lettering was just a way to earn good money in those days. I did lotsa stuff to get by but cartooning was always around. Anyways, I really dug your work on Human Target monthly. Gotta check out your other stuff too.
You switched to being a cover artist? I hope not cause I’d like to see your new stuff.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

As always, fantastic work! What’s it going to take to get you out to Emerald City Comicon in Seattle though?

Hey hey!
I got my guy page 28 of issue 8 of your original art on Doctor 13 for Christmas. The two of us couldn’t be more ecstatic about it. I got Brian Azzarello’s autograph at the bottom, and hopefully someday I can get yours. It’s amazing having original art of one of our favorite comics ever done by one of our favorite artists.
Thanks for doing such amazing work. :)

Thanks, Jamie! Hopefully I’ll get to sign it at one of my shows this year.
John, I can’t make it to Emerald City this year, but I’m shooting for next year.
