HeroesCon 2008 Sketches

Mary JaneGreen LanternThe RocketeerMister MiracleSnow White and Bigby IWonder WomanHarley QuinnSilver SableBatgirlCowgirl in chapsBatmanSnow White and Bigby IIThanks to everyone who came and said hello this past weekend in Charlotte. A couple quirky sketch subjects this time around, and quite a few Fables requests, too. The show was another great success and I’m already looking forward to next year. Special thanks to Heroes owner Shelton Drum, showrunner Dusty Harbin, the ever-dependable Doug Merkle, and a shout out to Bill Maio, Jim Clancy, and Rico Renzi! See you in ‘09!

Wow, I am really digging both the Bigby and Snow pieces. I wondered what to get from you if I find you in San Diego and it seems like a fables related piece is the way to go.

Thanks for posting the pics. Great Sketches.

I totally agree. Cliff was made to draw Fables. Someone just needs to get that Buckingham guy out of the way. ;-)

hey cliff!

it was great to see you at the show this year (as opposed to my friends playing pranks on me the previous year). thanks again for the rocketeer piece, it’s a great addition to my book!

Hey Cliff — thanks again for my Snow/Bigby (the one with the wolf.) Everyone who sees it loves the sketch!

Always great to see you, hopefully we’ll do it again next year.

Thanks, everyone! It can be tiring sketching all day, but it’s worth it to see people’s reactions. Years ago, I had a guy who was visibly disappointed and I haven’t been able to shake that feeling of letting him down. These days, I can spend anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours on a piece.

It was cool to chat with you again at the con. These sketches look great! The Mary Jane and Cowgirl ones are especially fun.

Any chance you’ll be posting the pinups you had here?
