Touch The Sky

Green Arrow & Black Canary #6Green Arrow & Black Canary #6 is on sale March 12! With only the slimmest of leads, Ollie, Dinah and Mia begin their international search for Connor’s kidnappers. First stop: Prague; and when they pose the right questions to some very wrong people, Team Arrow becomes the target!

With this issue, I’m sad to say that I’ll be leaving Green Arrow & Black Canary. Due to some recent family medical emergencies, I’ve elected to take myself off the book. Pencilling and inking 22 pages a month isn’t easy even under optimal conditions, and the last few months have been anything but. Rather than continue with the book and subjecting the readers to rushed artwork or intermittent and unexpected fill-ins, I thought it best to exit on a high note and asked my editors to find a new permanent replacement. It’s been a blast working with writer Judd Winick, and incoming artist par excellence Mike Norton is more than up to the task. And I’m not completely out of the picture — you’ll still be seeing me on covers. Best of luck to the team (though they won’t need it), and now I can look forward to reading the book like everyone else!

I’m sorry to hear that. But, I do very much like Mike Norton, and think he will fit very well.

Thanks, Jamie. Mike is great, and I had my fingers crossed when I heard he might be taking over the book. He’s gonna knock it out of the park.

That’s too bad. The main reason I picked up this book was for your art.

I hope everything turns out ok for you and your family. And I hope to see your fantastic art on a monthly basis soon.

Best wishes.

I hope everything works out well for you and your family.

You were the only reason I picked up GA/BC and you will be missed.

Hate to see you go. As much as I dislike Judd Winnick’s writing, your art made the book very enjoyable.

Thanks, guys. I hate to go, too. There were some bits in future issues that I was really looking forward to drawing. But now I get to see Mike draw them. Win!

Dang, I loved how cartoony/simple/cool the book was, because it was just easy and not full of distractions. I love mia and dinah and you did a great job on them. hope everything goes well for you and your family.

Hey Cliff,

Sorry to hear you;re leaving the book and moreso the family medical problems (We’ve had our share here the last three years so I can understand).

Actually in the process of buying some of your artwork from the books guess I’ll only have the 6 issues.

Take car and here;s hoping for a speedy recovery!

Mr. Chiang,

Thanks for your classy and professional farewell. Your art has been great and it’s sad to see you go. I do sincerely hope your family gets better. It’s becoming increasingly rare nowadays to see a comic artist or writer take such responsibility and show such a committment to the work, to the fans, and to family.

I commend you on your professionalism and wish you and your family nothing but the best and the speediest of recoveries.

Take care.

It’s sad to see you leave this book. Like many others, I bought this book mainly because of the art. I wish you and your family the best. And I look forward to the news on where you’ll be next.

I wish your family the strength to make it through this experience. I just love your art. You make every line have value - just incredible. Can’t wait to see you back at it full time. Just remember, you are very lucky to be able to share your talents with the rest of the world, inspire your fans and get paid for it all. May the love of “we the impassioned strangers” give you and your family some extra support.
